The “Intern Industry Night: Life Sciences” event is a standout opportunity within the series, specifically tailored for students and employers in the Life Sciences fields. Scheduled for November 14th at 4:30 PM at the Quarters in downtown Roanoke, this event provides a relaxed and engaging atmosphere where participants can explore the various work-based learning opportunities available in these dynamic fields. Whether you're a student seeking an internship to jumpstart your career or an employer looking to meet fresh talent, this event offers the perfect setting to connect and discuss the exciting possibilities that await in the Roanoke region.

Employer participation in the “Intern Industry Night” series is a valuable opportunity to connect with emerging talent in a casual environment. However, space is limited to 10 employers per event, selected on a first-come, first-served basis. If you don't make the first 10, you can still have your internship program included in the event program, which will be shared with attending students. Students will be submitting their resumes in advance, allowing you to review potential candidates before the event. To make the most of this opportunity, please prepare any necessary materials such as informational flyers or methods for collecting student contact information.

Participating in this internship event is not just beneficial for your organization in finding the right talent; it also plays a crucial role in supporting the local community by helping to retain skilled professionals in the region and fostering long-term economic growth.

Student participation in the “Intern Industry Night” series is a unique chance to network with potential employers in a business casual setting. Participation is limited to 5 students per institution, selected on a first-come, first-served basis. If you don't secure one of the first five spots, you can be waitlisted for a chance to fill any remaining openings. To attend, please prepare a resume to submit during registration, as it will serve as your ticket and be shared with all attending employers. Dressing in business casual attire is expected to make a strong professional impression. If you need any assistance preparing for this event, reach out to your institution’s career services department or review this Student Event Toolkit.

This internship event is not only important for your personal career development but also for the community, as it supports the retention of local talent and contributes to the economic growth of the region.

This event series has been collectively planned and executed by the Region 2 Internship Collaborative, which is a partnership between many local groups dedicated to Virginia talent development and retention. Below are the partners who worked on this specific series!
