In January 2024, Emmalee Wagner joined the Center for Economic and Community Engagement as the project coordinator for the Talent Pathways Initiative Planning project. Raised in the sunny state of Florida, she spent the last eight years in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she pursued dual majors in Political Science and Economics at the University of Utah. Drawing on her experience as a project coordinator, Emmalee is enthusiastic about contributing to the steering committee's efforts in formulating a strategic plan for the future implementation of talent pathways in GOVA Region 2.
In the grand scheme, Emmalee aspires to leverage her skills toward implementing diverse forms of economic development in smaller and rural communities, aiming to enhance the standard of living and economic vibrancy in these areas.
Beyond the professional realm, Emmalee finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether she's painting, visiting museums and historic landmarks, or championing local businesses. As the seasons change, you'll find her eagerly exploring the picturesque landscapes around Blacksburg, the New River Valley, and beyond!
