Virginia Cooperative Extension, Arrowbrook Urban Extension Center Feasibility Study, Fairfax County

The Virginia Tech Center for Economic and Community Engagement (CECE), along with partners Virginia Center for Housing Research (VCHR) and Dimensional Consulting, assessed the feasibility and sustainability of Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) programming for the proposed Arrowbrook Extension Center in Fairfax County. The center would be located on a 9-acre parcel bordered by the Dulles Toll Road and Centerville Road in Herndon, VA. Acting on its mission “to help individuals struggling with food insecurity and housing by supporting organizations that demonstrate awareness of root causes of hunger and homelessness,” the Ruth & Hal Launders Charitable Trust (RHLCT) partnered with VCE to shape the vision for this site.
