Holly Carroll, formerly a business operations specialist with the vice president for Outreach and International Affairs, has joined the Center for Economic and Community Engagement as its new business manager.

Carroll spent 20 years working in senior management for OIA. “I’m really excited to be on this new venture,” she said. “I’m looking forward to doing something different, expanding my knowledge, and using what I’ve learned from my degrees.”

Carroll holds a bachelor’s degree in management and leadership from Bluefield University and a Master of Business Administration from Averett University.

“Holly has a history of long university service, working with OIA since 2001. We look forward to having her aboard our team,” said John Provo, director of the center.

As the business manager for CECE, Carroll will provide financial and operational support for grant sponsored projects and will assist with departmental business transactions including purchasing and payroll. She will also coordinate project budgets and develop new project cost proposals with center faculty.

“Virginia Tech has given me the opportunity to improve my communication skills and getting to know and work with such a large, diverse group of people has been amazing,” she said.

Carroll lives in West Virginia and commutes to Virginia Tech. Outside of work, she enjoys hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, painting, and reading.
