Amy serves as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Virginia Tech, overseeing the university’s operational enterprises, including audit and compliance, finance, facilities, human resources, IT, public safety, and governance.

She joined Virginia Tech in 2022, bringing over 25 years of experience in higher education and state budget and policy. Before that, Amy was COO and CFO at William & Mary and spent more than a decade at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she managed finance and operations for the School of Medicine and MCV Physicians.

Earlier in her career, Amy worked for the Commonwealth of Virginia in finance and education policy roles and began her career at the Education Commission of the States.

She holds a bachelor's degree from Duke University, a Master of Public Policy from William & Mary, and a post-baccalaureate certificate in accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is married with two adult children.
