James “Jim” Richards

Jim has practiced law for over 41 years with experience that includes litigation, real estate, as well as lease and contract negotiation. His current practice involves corporate representation, mergers and acquisitions, and estate planning.
He is a native of Lynchburg with deep roots in the community and strongly believes in the necessity of maintaining vibrant local businesses to ensure the continued health and prosperity of the Lynchburg region. He previously served as Chair of the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance.
Jim enjoys time with his wife Lisa and opportunities to be involved with his children and his grandchildren. He plays decent tennis, is an avid woodworker, gardens, reads, and finds time to do a little writing on the side.
