Caley is the president and CEO of Sonny Merryman, a leading transportation company that delivers thousands of buses across Virginia. Before joining Sonny Merryman in 2021, he served as president and CEO of Thomas Built Buses, a role he assumed in 2015 after three years as vice president of operations. Earlier in his career, Caley spent decades at Detroit Diesel (later acquired by Daimler Trucks) where he held positions in engineering, production, design, and remanufacturing. His journey in the commercial vehicle industry began after earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University.
