CECE faculty Mallory Tuttle, associate director of the Virginia Tech Newport News Center, and Ashley Crouse, economic and community development specialist for CECE, recently visited the Eastern Shore Hub in Accomack County to tour the 35,000-square-foot facility and engage key seafood and agriculture stakeholders and partners in a discussion about the site’s current use and future potential.

Tucker Terry, who owns the facility – and together with Olsen Pruitt, operates Nandua Selects Oyster Farm – led a walkthrough of the space with business partner, Travis Croxton, co-owner of Rappahannock Oyster Company.

The visit included initial conversations to inform ongoing exploration and analysis. The project is funded by the Accomack County Economic Development Authority (supported by a Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services grant) and is a collaborative effort including locality and state representatives, seafood and agriculture industry partners, and academia.
